In the Big Mama © 2002 Lon Jones
once we were upside down
big mama breathes so we don’t drown
in the sea we slosh around
when big mama walks

in the big mama

hidden from the light of day
just a twist of DNA
angel hands shape the clay
while big mama waits

in the big mama

first we were a bunch of cells
then like fish we grow gills
then we get eyes and everything else
big mama balloons

in the big mama

we jump and we kick and we squirm
and we wiggle around
we grow grow grow grow grow
and we hear the sound
as her great big heart goes......

all we need until we are able
flows right in through our navels
thanks to her umbilical cable
big mama provides

in the big mama
